Gyan leads Ghana -Ghana Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah named a provisional 26-man squad for their upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup group E qualifier against Uganda in Kampala.
Black Stars’ captain Asamoah Gyan will lead the Black Stars next month as they face Uganda in a World Cup Qualifier and Saudi Arabia in a friendly.
Unfortunately, the Ayew brothers will not be part of the squad to face Uganda as they were excluded by coach Kwesi Appiah.

Captain Gyan who sustained an injury during last month’s World Cup qualifier against Congo at the Baba Yara Stadium, has recovered from the injury he picked up.
Asamoah was named in the 26-man squad announced on Tuesday for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uganda next Saturday, 7 October.
Gyan leads the cast of experienced players on the side that also has Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid), Daniel Amartey (Leicester), Christian Atsu (New Castle) and Jonathan Mensah (Columbus Crew).
Some prominent old players were dropped from the Black Stars squad, while some new faces, including junior players, were included.

The shakeup is in line with Kwesi Appiah’s earlier promise that composition of the national team squad will continually be based on competition and expertise.
Even with a win in Kampala Ghana’s World Cup dreams will be over if Egypt overcomes visiting Congo Brazzaville on Sunday.
