3news.com can confirm an ongoing firing of guns amidst drumming and dancing in the palace of the late Nakpa-Na Salifu Dawuni in Bimbila.
This development according to the Chairman of the District Security Council and the Nanumba-North District Chief Executive, Abdulai Yakubu has not been communicated to him but he confirmed, “yes, the firing of musketeers and drumming is ongoing and I can hear it from here, it’s unfortunate but it is true”.
He is unable to tell if the firing of the musketeers and drumming have anything to do with the enskinment of a regent.
Checks by 3news.com at the Regional Security Council also reveals the council in a meeting later today Saturday, October 14, 2017, reviewed the directives after the family presented their request to fire musketeers and drum on the third and seventh days funeral rites which were granted them.
These activities are expected to be performed under heavy security to forestall any unforeseen happenings.
REGSEC again prevented the family from any enskinment, REGSEC during the meeting was asked by the family to soften their stance as the family needed a head to lead in gathering the family and leading the family in performing the funeral rites.
