Accra Great Olympics player Paul Fiatsi became the second Ghanaian to win the CNN Goal of the week competition after Aduana star, Bright Adjei. Adjei won the maiden edition and subsequently won his second.
The playmaker scored a screamer of a volley over the weekend for Great Olympics against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in week fourteen game at the Accra Sports Stadium. His goal was later nominated for the competition alongside Emre Can (Liverpool), Higuain (Juventus) and Gabriel (Leganés) who also produced superlative strikes for their respective clubs.
Paul Fiatsi won the poll with 56% of the total vote cast on twitter beating Liverpool player, Emre Can who had 31% while Juventus striker, Gonzalo Higuain pulled 10% and placed third with Gabriel notching just 3%.
The player capped his first appearance of the season with that breathtaking goal to set his team up for victory against Kotoko. A strike that has now earned him a call-up into James Akwesi Appiah’s provisional 30-man Black Stars Team B squad announced to prepare for the CHAN 2018 qualifiers.
