Great Olympics began the second round of the Ghana Premier League strongly with a 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Substitute Coffie Bekoe hit the back of the net in the 66th minute to secure all the points for the Agorsu Boys on Saturday, May 27.
The Accra side had struggled in the first round but changed its managerial set up before the round ended.
With Tom Strand taking over from former player Godwin Attram, Olympics have improved significantly.
Strand had managed a 0-0 draw with Berekum Chelsea in the last game of the first round.
By the blast of referee Amorfa Sarkodie’s whistle to end proceedings at the Accra Sports Stadium, the 2010/2011 league champions were one man down too as Osei Bonsu received his second booking.
The win temporarily lifts Olympics out of the drop zone on the log above the likes of Liberty Professionals and Ashanti Gold ahead of Sunday’s fixtures.
