President and Chairman of Groupe Nduom (GN), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has stated that asmuch as it is painful to see what he has toiled for burn to ashes, he was hopeful God will help him rebuild what he has lost.
According to him, last Saturday’s inferno at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra left him devastated, but added that he was hopeful to pull through with the help of God.
The GN president made this known at Ajumako in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam (AEE) District of the Central Region when he commissioned two new branches of GN Bank at Ajumako and Besease last Tuesday.
He recalled that after the fire, customers of the bank at that branch trooped in the following day in their numbers to ask about their money and has therefore assured them that all their monies are safe because it was kept safe from the inferno.
“We have everyone’s data so it doesn’t matter the damage the fire caused so far as you come with your correct details, your money will be presented to you,” he emphasised.
Dr. Nduom explained that there was the need for the two new branches to be opened since customers in those areas had to travel to Mankessim for their transactions taking into cognisance the risk involved.
He further emphasised on the savings and Wodaakye (to wit future) accounts which begin with as low as 50 pesewas, saying once a customer opens an account with the bank, he or she is insured with a GH₵1,000 life insurance cover and enjoys the highest interest of 9% per annum which is currently the highest interest rate in the country.
He mentioned that since the bank believes in easy accessibility, it now has 8 branches in Liberia alone and will soon be in Burkina Faso.
Central Regional Manager of the bank, Madam Gladys Sigah, disclosed that GN Bank started in 2006 with just one branch but now has 289 branches all over the country with 34 branches in the Central Region.
The first person to open an account at the branch was given a gift token of GH₵ 250 to be deposited into the account.
