Six students of the Walewale Vocational Technical School were involved in a fatal accident over the weekend.
The Girls Prefect of the school, Osman Mukarima lost her life in the unfortunate accident.
Some of the injured students who spoke to TV3, said the Girls Prefect had asked five of them to assist her at her father’s farm at a nearby community called Gaa-gbini to harvest maize.
According to them, while at the road side they requested for a lift from a tricycle rider heading towards Walewale.
Few distance to the school, they said, the tricycle rider decided to buy fuel at the Nasona fuel station opposite the school.
When he got to the junction of the fuel station and tried negotiating a curve, the tricycle tilted and fell.
The occupants were rushed to the Walewale District Hospital but the Girls Prefect died from her injuries.
