A cross section of Ghanaians on Friday staged a demonstration to protest against the rising levels of corruption within the public service and government.
The demonstration which was organized Accra based radio station, by Adom FM was dubbed the “Fabeworso.
It was aimed at compelling the Akufo-Addo government to retrieve monies supposedly stolen officials who were in the Mahama government as well as public sector workers.
The musician Barima Sydney who was part of the demonstration, stated that the protest is geared at forcing government to retrieve and prosecute corrupt officials.
“It is ll about corruption. In Ghana here they declared war against Galamsey which I think it is very good, but to me I think corruption is a big issue we are facing here. We know it is a new government. All we are saying here is it is not really about politicians. There are a lot of Chief Executive Officers from Standard Board chopping individuals’ money.”
