A short ceremony has been held by the Ghana Baptist University College (GBUC) in Kumasi Amekom to swear in new executive members of the Student Representative Council (SRC).
The ceremony was attended by lecturers of the college including Rev. Prince Yaw Addofo, Dean of Students as well as SRC executives from various institutions in Kumasi.
The outgoing president, Mr Patrick Antwi Tuffuo on behalf of the old executives, expressed hope that the new administration will continue with the projects initiated during their tenure of office.
The new President of the SRC, Mr. Eric Osei Akoto in his acceptance speech thanked the old executives for their hard work and also the students for giving him and his executives the mandate to serve them.
He promised they will work hard to serve their interest, but called on the students body to support them to realise their vision of championing the cause of students through hard work, selflessness and integrity.
“I believe very strongly that is possible and it can be possible if we work together as SRC, as students and one big happy university community”.
Rev Yaw Prince Addofo, the Dean of Students while congratulating the old executives, charged the new team to be focus and get closer to the students to know their needs and address them accordingly.
The other executive members are Acheampong Richard Ofosu, Vice President; Miss Jennifer Serwaah -Secretary; Mr Danny Frimpong, Financial Secretary; Miss Ama Amoah Acheampong, Women’s Commissioner; Miss Grace Adu Acquah, Judicial committee; and Mr Joseph Basua, Speaker of Parliament.
