A lady in her early 20s has been paralyzed after an alleged gang rape at Abrepo near Bantama, a suburb of the Kumasi Metropolis in the Ashanti Region, MyNewsGh.com reports.
The victim whose identity is yet to be established is currently in a critical condition after the alleged incident which has been reported with the police.
An eyewitness, Evans Osei Amoah who lives close to the crime scene, told MyNewsGh.com that they heard loud screaming around 1 am on Sunday dawn but did not go out for fear it was a robbery ploy by some faceless persons to trap their victims.
According to him, at about 6am, he came out of his home to find the victim naked and unconscious in a small plantain farm in front of his house.
“Because of her situation, we reported the case to Suntreso Police Command and they quickly responded and came to her aid”, he said.
A source at the Suntreso Police Station also confirmed the incident to MyNewsGh.com that, the victim was indeed in a critical condition and receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
Meanwhile, a visit to the crime scene found condoms in the victim’s handbag raising suspicion she could be a “sex worker”.
The Police disclosed to MyNewsGh.com that they have commenced investigation into the matter.
