Rooney’s ban -Former England captain Wayne Rooney will not be driving for the next two years…
He has been banned from driving for two years and ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order. Rooney pleaded guilty to drink driving on a night out while his pregnant wife and their three sons were on holiday.

The 31-year-old was stopped by police while driving 29-year-old party girl Laura Simpson home from a night out in her Volkswagen Beetle in Wilmslow, Cheshire, at 2 am on September 1.
Rooney who was later arrested and bailed entered his guilty plea on Monday, September 18 at Stockport Magistrates’ Court.
The Everton striker, 31, was given a 12-month community order as he was sentenced at Stockport Magistrates’ Court this morning. This after he was told by the court that a fine would have no punitive effect
Rooney was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85 (making it a sum of £170) after admitting to being three times over the drink-drive limit.

After his plea, Wayne rendered an unqualified apology to his fans and the general public for his irresponsible act.
Following today’s court hearing I want publicly to apologize for my unforgivable lack of judgment in driving while over the legal limit. It was completely wrong.
The incident came just weeks after Rooney’s wife, Coleen announced she is expecting her fourth baby with her husband; the couple are already parents to Kai, seven, Klay, four and one-year-old Kit.
Before he was sentenced, Rooney’s lawyer argued that he shouldn’t be given a sentence ordering him to complete unpaid work in the community.
According to him. Rooney was already doing a large amount of work through charity in the community and it would be good if he was given a community order.
He also mentioned his charities which included lder Hey hospital, Claire House children’s hospice, the NSPCC, his own foundation, the Manchester United Foundation and Everton in the Community.
After 13 years at Man United, Rooney rejoined Everton, his first club, this season. He won one Champions League and five Premier League titles while at United.
