The newly built Mahama’s Bole mansion is said to worth millions of Ghana Cedes, and is the only such edifice in that locality.
Reports from Mynewsgh.com reveal that Former President John Dramani Mahama has finally built a personal residence in his hometown, Bole in the Northern Region of Ghana; a feat he did not achieve throughout his tenures in different political positions. Throughout his time in political offices, Mr. Mahama had always put up at the prestigious Cocoa Research Institute Guest house in Bole each time he visited his hometown.
Former President Mahama who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency from 1997 to 2009 was constantly criticized by his countrymen for his failure to build a house in his hometown despite his position in government.

General Manager of Bole-based Nkilgi FM, Mr Mahama Haruna disclosed that residents of Bole have already started commending the former President for putting up the house which is the biggest mansion in the area. According to him, Mahama’s inability to build a house in Bole despite his rising from being an MP to a Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice- President, and then the President, was one of the biggest issues that cost him the love of his own people.
Mr. Haruna stressed that explanations that Mahama’s father, the late E. A Mahama who was the first Member of Parliament and the first government Minister had a house in Bole was not enough to make the people stop assuming that the immediate past president didn’t have Bole at heart.

Meanwhile, no one has been able to find out exactly why Mahama did not build a home in his village all these while, nor does anyone know why he finally decided to build one now. Speculations are already flying around that even though the house has been built, it looks like Mahama will not even live in it.
Well, if the house won’t serve it’s rightful purpose, it has for the meantime become a tourist attraction, as close sources reveal that residents visit the place to catch a glimpse of the house despite its being walled and well protected with state-of-the-art security systems.
