Former welterweight world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has confirmed that he will be in Ghana in June.
The boxer had announced earlier in the year that he would be in Africa on a tour without naming his various destinations.
However, on Thursday, he boxer put out a video which had since been published by a number of portals. The video (courtesy of NY DJ’s Facebook page) has Mayweather indicating that his stop in Ghana will be on the 15th and 16th of June.
Mayweather is one of most popular athletes in the world due to his very impressive unbeaten of 49 wins without a loss in his professional career which spanned from 1996 to 2015.
He also attracts a lot of attention because of his displays of wealth. He is often pictured flaunting US dollars leading to his nickname “The Money Man”.
His bout with Manny Pacquiao in May 2015 raked in the highest revenue for a pay-per-view bout with a sum of USD 400 million.
In the ring, he was a five-division world champion and he also competed in the 1996 Olympic Games.
He now runs his own boxing promotion imprint, Mayweather Promotions, which has Andrew Tabiti and Gervonta Davis on its roster.
