ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, has been directed by the Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu, to act as the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Ghana Police Service,
This came after DCOP Bright Oduro was relieved of the position of Director-General of the (CID) of the Police Service.

DCOP Bright Oduro was the Director-General in charge of Welfare at the Police Service before being moved to the CID as the new Director-General in January 2017. He was however asked to proceed on leave ahead of his retirement in January 2018.
Various stakeholders have expressed confidence in the new deputy ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, who has now stepped into Oduro’s shoes.

Maame Yaa was born to Mr Kwame Adiya-Nimo and Nana Adwoa Agyekumwaa II (Queenmother of Banka) on 19 August 1969 at Konongo in the Asante Akyem district of the Ashanti Region. She is second of six children.
She had her primary and secondary education at Roman Catholic Primary and Middle Schools, and Bompata Secondary School respectively
2. Maame Yaa Addo-Danquah is currently the first female Commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC) located in Winneba, the Central Region of Ghana.

A remarkable thing to note about the new CID boss Maame Yaa Addo-Danquah is the controversial leaked tape saga which made rounds in the media a few weeks.
ACP Addo-Danquah’s promotion comes amidst controversy over a leaked audio recording that found her contradicting investigations of the CID.
ACP Addo-Danquah was recently in the news after being accused by musician Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-Plus, of trying to cover-up some malfeasances in the probe of President Akufo-Addo’s two Deputy Chiefs of Staff.
In an audio said to be a leaked recording of a conversation between A-Plus and ACP Addo-Danquah, the police officer was heard advising A-Plus to deny the allegations because he is a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Maame Yaa Addo-Danquah was largely accused of misconduct in the manner she handled the investigation, per the details of the telephone conversation that appeared unprofessional and compromised.
She later claimed that the tape was doctored to portray her in a bad light, a claim A-Plus denied.
