At the height of criticisms that his song did not deserve to have won the Most Popular Song of the Year award at the 19th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Tamale-based hip life act, Fancy Gadam, has consoled Patapaa for missing out on that award.
Many people including Patapaa, have criticized organisers of the awards for not giving the Most Popular Song of the Year to Patapaa for his breakthrough song, ‘One Corner’ which dominated airplay in and outside the country last year.
But Fancy Gadam insisted he won the award due to the support of his fan base, which he described as being the “most loyal fans in the world”.
“You for no vex. Vexing no dey inside oo,” he told Patapaa on Joy FM on Monday adding “…Charlie you be my guy oo”.

Feeling bitter after the event, Patapaa said in a media interview organizers of the awards should not have nominated him if they knew he was not going to win, adding that his song was obviously the most popular song in the year under review than any of the 8 other songs in that category.
Patapaa also alleged that Fancy Gadam paid money to influence his wining of the award, allegation the Total Cheat hit maker as “totally lies”.
He said Patapaa has no reason to be angry at him because they were not the only two nominees in that category so he [Patapaa] should take everything in good faith and hope for a better tomorrow.
Fancy Gadam now has three VGMAs to his credit having won the new artiste of the Year in 2017. He won the Best Hiplife Song of the Year and the Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year on Saturday.
