It has been confirmed that much admired TV/Radio presenter, Naa Ashorkor Doku Mensah has dropped her roles at the Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) Network for new opportunities at the Multimedia Group.
Naa Ashorkor’s exit from EIB Network follows a similar departure by one of the organisation’s most prominent presenters, GhOne and Live FM’s host AJ Sarpong who left for Citi FM earlier this month [October].

During Ashorkor’s stay with EIB, she was the host of GHOne’s ‘Tales from the Powder Room’ and Starr FM’s daily mid-morning show, ‘The Zone’. But Madam Ashorkor has now taken up new roles at Multimedia’s Joy FM.
Stories on Naa Ashorkor’s move from EIB to Multimedia have been flooding the media since last weekend but BuzzGhana has gathered some key facts about the recent development.
Ashorkor’s departure from EIB Network comes on the heels of her return from a long maternity leave before and after the birth of her first child some months ago.

During this period of absence, colleague presnter, Kofi Okyere Darko popularly known as KOD took her place as Host of GHOne’s mid-morning show, ‘The Zone’. This according to close sources, kept the beautiful presenter’s feet in the air since her return from the maternity leave – a situation that reportedly affected her job satisfaction.
Joining Multimedia, Naa has been appointed the prestigious position of the host of top and very comprehensive Entertainment/Creative Arts critical analysis show, ‘Showbiz A-Z’ formally known as ‘Rhythmz A-Z’. She is expected to assume duties on Saturday November 4.
Multimedia is the largest private media organisation in Ghana at the moment, with its subgroups including Joy News/FM, Joy Prime, Luv FM, Adom FM/TV, Nhyira FM, Asempa FM, HItz FM, Myjoyonline.com, Adomonline.com, Multi TV and Joy Marketing Service.
EIB on the other hand is a smaller media organisation which comprises GHOne TV, Starr FM, Live FM, Kasapa FM, Ultimate FM, Agoo FM, Empire FM and Daily Heritage. Considering the greater popularity of Multimedia TV and Radio stations, it is certain that Naa Ashorkor has found better opportunities there.
Aside broadcasting, Naa Ashorkor is also an award-winning actress and playwright. She is best known for her roles in Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s film, ‘Perfect Picture’, Adam’s Apple film series, and Iroko TV’s Movie Series, ‘Poisoned Bait’ directed by Leila Djansi. Her role in ‘Perfect Picture’ earned her the Best Actress Award at the 2010 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
Meanwhile, her stay at EIB was a very remarkable one. While at the job, she attracted lots of young and middle-aged listeners to the show. She also became the first face of Starr FM‘s popular women’s programme, ‘Starr Woman’.
However, Ashorkor’s admirers who heaved sighs of relief on her return to GHOne ad Strr FM’s studios at the beginning of the month, has now been left disappointed with this latest news of the presenter’s permanent exit.
