Eight persons are still on the wanted list of the Ghana Police Service, in connection with the murder of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region.
In a statement on Wednesday, the police called for public assistance to arrest the persons at large.
On Wednesday, 32 out of 56 arrested persons were put before an Accra District Court. They are to reappear on Wednesday, July 6.
Among the 26 were five persons from the Volta Region who told TV3’s Komla Klutse on Wednesday that they were wrongfully rounded up at Asankragua in the Western Region.
The eight on the police wanted list are Yaw Amankwah, Kwadwo Fordjour, Kwabena Kenkeba, Tikwa, Yaw Boadu, Madam Deedikor, Eric Asante also known as yaw Agade and Kofi Ahenkorah.
“Anyone with information on their whereabouts should kindly report to the CID/headquarters.”
Major Mahama was gruesomely murdered on Monday, May 29 as the residents in the Upper Denkyira West District mistook him for an armed robber.
He was buried on Friday, June 9 at the Osu Military Cemetery.
He was a commander of a military detachment in the District.
