The Principal of E. P College of Education (AMECO) has been summoned to Accra to answer questions as to why a bus donated to the school by government less than a year ago, is being used to cart firewood.
The Eicher Bus with registration number GV 158-16, was one of the 500 buses presented to schools across the country in June 2016 by then President John Dramani Mahama.
But this week, images of the bus belonging to the EP College of Education fully loaded with firewood flooded social media and drew concerns over how the vehicles were being used. AMECO is a mixed teacher training institution located at Amedzofe in the Ho West Municipality in the Volta Region.
Myjoyonline.com has gathered that the Principal of the school, Rev. Sylvanus K. Tettey, has been hauled to a meeting with Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh today, Friday, May 12, 2017, over the use of the bus.
Officials at the Ministry are unhappy at the development.
Disciplinary action could be taken against Rev. Tettey if he is unable to give a convincing explanation at the meeting with the Minister, Dr. Opoku Prempeh.
