Management of the late songstress Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, popularly known as Ebony Reigns, are planning to visit the grave of the late musician who won three awards, posthumously, at the just ended VGMAs 2018.
The dancehall artiste won the ultimate award for the VGMAs , Artiste of the Year 2018 on Saturday April 14.
Other awards were Afro Pop Song of the Year with her hit track, ‘Sponsor’; and Album of the Year, Bonyfied. Songwriter of the Year went to “Bullet”, her manager, for the Maame Hwe song. Bullet apparently wrote 95% of Ebony’s songs in the Bonyfied album, the manager claimed.
Assistant Manager of the Ebony, Allen Kofi Anti, in an interview with Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa on Monday said “we shall go to the grave side…We shall plan and let the public know when we are going”.
He noted that the team were saddened and tearing on stage when they went for the awards on her behalf, pointing out that “we had planned for her performance on the VGMA”.
Kofi Anti added, “Ebony knew she had worked for the awards so she will be happy anywhere she is now”.
Asked where the awards are, Mr. Anti said “the awards are going to the family. We have given them to the father. The father is sad and happy because he knew Ebony worked hard towards them”.
