There’s seems not to be an end to the situation where some people arrogate powers to themselves in the country not giving reference and respect to the Chief of Staff and the Housing Sector Minister.
On Friday there was a drama at State Housing Company where Mr Kwabena Appiah who is said to have been appointed by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the Managing Director of the State Housing Company Limited (SHC) visited the State Housing Company to introduce himself to the company without his appointment letter.
Our sources say when he and his team were asked to produce his appointment letter he couldn’t. Checks from the Ministry and the Flagstaff house said the said appointment is not true and should be disregarded since the president at his own time will do what is right and that government was not aware of such a move.
Some checks at the Ministry of Housing indicates that there’s no such appointment by that nature by government or the president and it should be ignored because that is not the procedure of government.
Another source at the Flagstaff House also indicates that Mr Kwabena Appiah who is said to have been appointed by the President; Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the Managing Director of the State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has no letter to that effect. Since all letter of that nature passes through the Press Secretary and the Information Minister.
Like the normal procedure that has been done at the National Service Secretariat, Masloc Ghana Tourist Authority, Nadmo and Ghana Gas, STC and the rest.
The stories come into the public domain with appointment letters accompanying them.
Mr Kwabena Appiah who has no such letter instead choose to go to the media thus a Story on Ghanweb on the 12th May 2017 sourced from Ultimate FMhttp://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/business/Kwabena-Appiah-appointed-Managing-Director-of-State-Housing-Company-537067 without his letter and gave his background as prior to his appointment.
Mr Appiah was the USA Manager for the Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae) in the United States of America adding that he brings to the SHC 8 years of experience from the USA housing market plus 4 years from the UK housing market.
So coming to SHC which has a similar mandate, Mr Appiah said Ghanaians should expect a world class revamp of the housing market in Ghana. He also stated he has accepted his appointment letter from the President and assured to reduce the housing deficit in Ghana by bringing the SHC back to profitability.
