The Member of Parliament for Wasa East constituency has cautioned government to be careful of $19 Billion Chinese loan.
According to Hon Agyei Mensah this initiative the future of the country is doomed. The opposition National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament speaking on the hottest afternoon political show ‘Asem Yi Di Ka’ said both late Prof Mills and John Dramani Mahama’s rein refuse to secure that loan all because they considered the future generations.
On Tuesday June, 27, 2017 one of the deputy Ministers of Finance answered a question as to whether the country has successfully secured a load from the Chinese government on Accra base Neat FM’s morning show which was been hosted by Akwasi Aboagye, in that interview Hon. Kwaku Kwateng said the proposal is now before the executive for review and it will be successful when it’s approved by both executive and parliament.
Meanwhile the vice president in his return from China on official working visit was in the news that the visit was bringing $19 billion to the country to enable the government embark on his one village, one dam and one district one factory project.
Out of this money it was disclosed that $2 billion has already been given of which $4B was being expected next month though the minority in parliament has vow to condemned the moved when it comes to parliament.
The Hon. Member of Parliament for Wasa East said how can the government go for such a loan at the expense of the future generations, he said it is estimated that Ghana is worth $40 billion and therefore the government must desist from that move.
Hon. Agyei Mensah said the country’s oil is what is will be use as collateral for that loan. Most members of the opposition National Democratic Congress have recommended the deputy Minister for speaking the truth.
