A cluster of six (6) primary schools in the Bantama constituency of the Ashanti region on Saturday March 17, 2018 benefited from a donation of reading books and computers from Deputy Chief of Staff Francis Asenso-Boakye.
The donation, according to Mr. Asenso, forms part of his contribution towards education in a community within which he was born and raised.
Accompanied by the Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi and MP for Bantama, Daniel Aboagye, the Deputy Chief of staff interacted with pupils and teachers of the beneficiary schools in the Bantama Constituency.
“As we are all aware, the President of the Republic Nana Akufo-Addo has made education the central plank of his industrialisation and Ghana beyond aid agenda. Education is our most secured investment and best bet out of poverty’’ Mr. Asenso said at a ceremony to present the items to the schools.
The Deputy Chief of Staff added, “We must as a people harness the value and power of education to inform and transform our society. We owe it a duty to inculcate the habit of reading into our children and the youth if we must spawn generational thinkers and leaders’’.
Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye acknowledged the support of the Bantama constituents for the NPP government and urged them to continue to support the efforts of government to transform Ghana into a prosperous country for all irrespective of gender, tribe, ethnicity or political affiliation.
