The Member of Parliament for the Upper Denkyira West, Samuel Nsowa Djan has sent a distress call to government to intervene by providing relieve packages for the people of Denkyira.
The people, he explains may soon die of hunger as they barely have food to eat.
Nsowa Djan in an interview with Kasapa News’ Central Regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour, explains that the fragile security situation in the area makes it difficult for the people to step out to their farms as they fear being attacked on the farm by the security personnel in the area.
The recent killing of a man in the forest close to the Denkyira town has really put fear in the indegenes to go about their farming duties in order to have food to eat.
He is, therefore, calling on the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other partners to move in quickly to provide the people with food to ensure their survival.
Those left in the town, he added are the vulnerable including old women and children who can barely struggle to make ends meet.
He also called for the withdrawal of the soldiers and police from the area so that the people can freely step out to go about their duties.
