Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, has been confirmed as the substantive Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Then ACP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah was asked by the IGP to Act as the Director-General of the CID in October 2017, after her then boss, DCOP Bright Oduro, was asked to proceed on leave ahead of his retirement in January 2018.
She was days later promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) effective November 1, 2018 in line with her new position.
A police circular dated January 14, 2018 and signed by the Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu established: “DCOP/ Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, Ag Director-General/CID is hereby confirmed Director-General/CID.”
The circular also confirmed DCOP/Mr. Anthony Tennyson Aidoo as the Director General/ICT of the Ghana Police Service.
