The acting General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has described as “backward” invocation of curses on him and other Executives of the party.
A video of some disgruntled members of the NPP in the Awutu Senya East in the Central Region went viral on social media pouring curses on Boadu and others in the party’s hierarchy.
Their action, Starrfmonline.com understands, was triggered by what they claim to be unfair treatment meted out to them in the just ended polling station elections in the area.
“Nana, we cannot say anything. We know you can help us that is why we have come to you. We know you won’t let our toil be in vain. Anyone who is a part of this, kill the person!” the leader of the group said during the invocation exercise.
In his reaction however, Boadu told Starr Chat host Bola Ray Wednesday February 7, 2018 that the curses spewed on him do not scare him.
“Those things don’t get to me. I felt that it was backward. I felt that it was unnecessary,” he stated.
He said the proper channel would have been for the said saddened members of the party in Awutu Senya East to petition the party hierarchy for their concerns to be addressed.
“If you have difficulties one way or the other I don’t think that you resort to what they did” and the party frowns on that, he noted.
“We will make sure that members of our party don’t disgrace the party like that,” he stressed hinting that the culprits would be sanctioned.
