Members of the Association of Ghanaian Health Specialists trained in Cuba, continue to provide free medical services to residents of Kasuliyili, a farming community in the Tolon District of the Northern Region.
The Association known as Cubanito Nortenos, within two years, has organised three free health screening to hundreds of beneficiaries there.
The Association accomplished the third phase of the outreach programme on Saturday, April 29, 2017.
The medical Doctors and other paramedics treated patients suffering from hypertension, worm infestation, malaria, diabetes and pregnancy complications.
The aged, adults, children and pregnant women, have always benefited from the Association’s outreach programmes.
The Association’s leader and Chairman, Dr. Evans Nsoh Ayamdoo, decried the Kasuliyili community’s isolation, hence the team’s continual humanitarian services to residents there.
He commended Ginapharma, Procure and Pharmanova companies limited for sponsoring the Association’s outreach programmes. According to him, Ginapharma Pharmaceuticals Company Limited donated a large consignment of assorted drugs worth Ghc13, 000.
The Chief of Kasuliyili, Naa-Alhaji Yakubu Abubakari, thanked the Association for its lifesaving interventions.
He implored government to upgrade the Kasuliyili CHPS Compound to a Polyclinic saying, “There is currently too much pressure on it owing to the number of pregnant women who come from surrounding communities to seek healthcare.”
Kasulilana Alhaji Yakubu Abubakari further proposed to government to absorb the private Kasuliyili Community Day Senior High School.
This, according to him, could create enough space to admit more students as the “Free Senior High School” programme takes off in September 2017.
The Cubanito Nortenos is a combination of medical doctors, veterinary doctors, agriculturists and other professionals. It is a non-profit making humanitarian services Association that regularly cater for the health needs of people in deprived communities of Ghana.
