Singer Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah aka Mzbel, has lauded the free Senior High School (SHS) education policy which began yesterday, September 11, 2017.
The program will start with first-year students in all public SHSs and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions across the country.
The artist who had criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its policies prior to the 2016 elections, took to her Facebook page to share her experience of the new policy which took effect in public senior high schools across the country.
It becomes surprising that Mzbel, who is known to be an avid critic of the policies of the current government, has turned around to laud its Free SHS policy.
Mzbel was a supporter of the erstwhile government under John Mahama. The controversial singer campaigned earnestly for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the last election. She was known for her constant castigation of the now ruling party’s policies.

Confessing to the effectiveness of the program, the singer, said that items such as school uniforms, admission fees, and others had all been truly catered for as promised by the government.
She said that no payments were required from her when she took her son to Achimota Senior High School, Monday.
She noted that although she had heard about the policy, she didn’t believe it was feasible. The singer disclosed that she had gone to the bank to withdraw money to pay for the fees only to be told there was no need.
