A Koforidua Circuit Court B has granted bail to Amening Benjamin, 22, an illegal miner who is facing trial, along with other two other Ghanaians and three Chinese nationals.
The six were arraigned for their alleged involvement in illegal mining activities at Denkyira, a village near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region in April, 2017.
The court presided over by Mercy Adei Kotei, granted a GHc 30,000 bail to Benjamin Amening, with two sureties after the defence filed for bail during the last hearing.
However, the five other accused person Sao Subi,43, Wu Shoalin, 44, Wu Enzien, 45, Raymond Ayembiri, 30, and Attah Dankwa, 31, have all been remanded to reappear before the court on May 23, 2017.
The prosecution has also been asked to make available a Chinese interpreter at the next hearing.
