One person is feared dead after a storey building under construction collapsed in the early hours of Wednesday June 28, 2017.
The structure, which was part of several construction projects at the Techiman market, caved in at about 4:00am.
According to reports, three young men were sleeping in the uncompleted building and it is feared the collapse has killed one while the other two are responding to treatment at the Holy Family Hospital.
A security man at the site, Seidu Mumuni, told Class News’ regional correspondent, Claude Kumi Abisa, that “after my rounds in the night I didn’t discover anything unusual but the building collapsed suddenly”, adding: “It didn’t shake or show any sign of collapse so that people could flee, it just happened but I managed to escape unhurt.”
Meanwhile, Brong Ahafo regional minister Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh visited the scene and is currently at a closed door meeting with the Techiman Municipal Assembly.
