National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, says he will be very much surprised if Prof. Emmanuel Martey, sits unconcerned for a new pastor of his church appointed into office less than five months goes about raping girls without him cracking the whip.
According to him, he finds it so difficult to comprehend the assertions of the immediate past Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, not to criticize the Akufo-Addo/Dr. Bawumia led government because they have been in power less than five months.
Prof. Martey, on Monday, grabbed the headlines, when he described critics of President Nana Akufo-Addo as “unwise” people.
According to him, some of these critics lack the moral right to criticize when they failed abysmally while in office for eight years.
Speaking to Journalists in the Eastern Region during the inauguration of a C4C Homeopathic Clinic, the ex Moderator stated that it will be better if the critics of the Akufo-Addo government supports the president to succeed during his term in office.
“All those who are making those unwise statements that Akufo-Addo has failed…I hear some of them; they have been there [for] eight years and they have not been able to do anything and they are querying those who just came. “I’m calling upon those unwise people to stop querying. They should wait and pray that this present government delivers,” Prof. Martey advised.
But Kofi Adams responding to the former Moderator’s assertions on Kasapa 102.5 FM on Tuesday wondered at what level the public should subject the new administration to account for their stewardship.
“Is Prof. Martey telling us that he having practiced the work of God for so many years and became even the Moderator and now gone on retirement … so if a new Presby pastor who has not even had three months into his pastoral duties makes mistakes or goes about raping girls and doing this and doing that, we will not criticize him because he came into office not long ago? I don’t agree with him. He should come again. If some of the appointees are corrupt, at what levels should we wait for the menace to persist before we talk about it?”
He added “If the NDC which has large following – almost half of the voting population in this country should not criticize the Akufo-Addo government, who should do that?” he quizzed.
