Over one thousand Police personnel have been deployed by the Central Regional Police Command to ensure incident-free Christmas in the region.
Regional Commander, COP David Neenyi Ampah – Bennin, said the Police in the region were ready to deal drastically with criminals who storm the area to harass innocent citizens during the festive season.
Addressing a news conference in Cape Coast Wednesday, he observed that criminal activities including pick- pocketing, drug peddling and arm robbery increases during festive seasons, hence the need to deploy personnel to all vantage points to combat such crimes.
COP Ampah- Beenin said personnel would also arrest motorbikes and vehicles without registration numbers, stressing that most criminals use this unregistered vehicles to commit crimes.
He urged the general public to desist from using cars without proper registration to avoid being arrested.
The regional commander appealed to police personnel to work diligently by protecting the public.
