Embattled Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been trending on various social platforms over allegations he receives bribes in the form of goats and cows in return for government appointments.
The allegations were made by Gender and Social Protection Minister, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba following a fallout of disagreements between them last week at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
Mr Bugri Naabu who stormed the hotel to disrupt a meeting with some women, claimed the minister failed to give him prior notice considering the fact the area falls under his jurisdiction describing the gathering as illegal.
He was said to have disrupted the meeting with some party thugs accusing the minister of being a tribal bigot who was meeting some women and promising them jobs when president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had already picked his favourites for the said positions.
But the enraged Gender Minister in response accused him of receiving bribes and promising people jobs when he knows when he cannot meet such promises.
“Bugri Naabu should stop promising people positions he cannot offer. He should better return their cows, goats and monies he took from them. If Bugri Naabu wants my trouble, then trouble he will get”
