Palm-wine music (known as maringa in Sierra Leone) is a West African musical genre which has derivative forms such as Highlife.
BiQo believes that this sound should be passed on from one generation to the next and that’s the only way we can preserve and hold on to our sound and culture as a people.
Also BiQo’s palm wine music represents the idea of patronizing anything made in Africa by the African, you can tell from a line in the song which goes -“Den so ni Tequila broni di b3 gye mi Sika. Abra mi timi one Ghana feeli nsa fitaa” which was in the rap verse of Ansah Live who was featured on the song. BiQo recruites Tano Jackson and Ansah Live on this one and was produced by his in-house producer, Liquidbeatz.
