Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has fulfilled his promise to give the Hajia Mariam Alolo Islamic Institute, headquartered in Tamale, a mini bus.
As the Northern Region premier women’s Islamic Institute, lack of transportation has compelled management to hire tricycles for its outreach programs.
The Veep during his recent tour of the Northern Region made the pledge upon the Institute’s management request when he visited there.
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed officially presented a brand Hyundai CVX four wheel drive with registration number GW6113-17 to the Institute management at a colorful ceremony.
Salifu Saeed said the vehicle was meant to facilitate the institute’s outreach events across the northern region and beyond.
He reassured them of Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s determination to help solve some of the institute’s myriad problems.
He disclosed government’s intention to empower the Institute to deepen peaceful coexistence through the daily Islamic preachings on radio and other local communication channels.
He called for the Institute management’s collaboration with government to promote reconciliation and unity in the region.
