Ayew brothers Dropped -The shake-ups on Ghana’s senior national team for the World Cup Qualifier against Uganda has seen the Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan removed from the squad, according to Nhyira FM.
The reshuffle or shake up as the case may be moved from discussions to reality following Ghana’s victorious takeover at the Cape Coast stadium when Black Stars B beat Nigeria 4-1 to lift the prestigious WAFU Cup 2017.

Maxwell Konadu’s team opened the scoring in the first half with Stephen Sarfo grabbing the goal for Black Stars B. Vincent Atingah, Sarfo and Winful Cobbinah then added three in the second half with Nigeria’s consolation coming via Rabil Ali.
Following the WAFU triumph, coach of the senior national team Kwesi Appiah considered introducing some home-based players in his World Cup qualifiers.
These local names were sure to earn some spots in the senior team following their great feat that made the country proud.
The unexpected and daring move by the Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah comes in the wake of the decision of the West Ham and Swansea City players to pull out of the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Congo which the Black Stars won 5-1 in Brazzaville this month.

It can be recalled that the Ayew brothers, as well as Captain Asamoah Gyan, were absent during the clash in Brazzaville which restored the hope of Ghanaians.
Kwesi Appiah’s move is likely to spark heated arguments over the long-standing conflict between coach Appiah and the father of the duo Abedi Pele.
But Coach Kwesi Appiah who is obviously under pressure to secure a spot for Ghana at the 2019 world cup tournament seems to be ready for backlash likely to follow his withdrawal of the Ayew brothers.

Dropping the assistant captain of a team and his brother is not the type of action that goes unnoticed.
Loyalists of the Ayew brothers are sure to argue that it is the extension of the 1992 rift between their father and coach Appiah, claiming the Black Stars boss is victimizing Abedi Pele’s children.
Whereas, Kwesi Appiah’s supporters will rather question the player’s possible justification for exempting themselves from a major clash.
Andre withdrew his involvement in the qualifier against Congo claiming he was injured while a sick-bed photo emerged on social media which ruled his younger brother out of the match.
However, the Swansea City forward recovered in time to feature for his side against Newcastle United after a few days.
