Ghana skipper, Asamoah Gyan, has added his voice to the millions who have condemned the barbaric murder of a military officer, Captain Maxwell Mahama in the Central Region.
The West African nation has been thrown into a state of shock after a mob lynched the officer at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region on Monday.
Gyan, who is regarded as one of the influential figures especially in the discipline of football, expressed his displeasure about the development, and hoped that such will never occur again.
Other influential personalities including former Presidents John Mahama and Jerry John Rawlings, have all condemned the dastardly act, and called for the swift prosecution of all persons found culpable in the crime.
President Akufo-Addo has also condemned the incident, and vowed that the suspects will not go scot-free.
A joint police and military operation has resulted in the rounding up of about 50 persons.
About 5 of those arrested are said to be directly linked to the injustice, and are currently at the Central Regional Police Command assisting in further investigations.
