Deputy Minister of Agriculture, William Agyapong Quaitoo has succumbed to pressure as he finally resigns from his position.
The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda tendered in his resignation letter to the president with immediate effect.
The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr. Eugene Arhin who announced on his Facebook page Tuesday did not state when he submitted his resignation letter.
The post on social media however stated that President Nana Akufo-Addo accepted his decision.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, this evening accepted the resignation from office of the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Hon. William Quaitoo, MP, which takes immediate effect.
“The President wished him the very best in his future endeavours,” he wrote.
The Deputy Minister has come under intense criticisms for days after passing uncomplimentary comment about people from the Northern region in the wake of the armyworm invasion.
