The Netherlands Ambassador to Ghana, Ron Strikker has called for the strengthening of economic relations between Ghana and Netherlands for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
He noted for instance that the two countries have a lot to share and gain with regards to government’s one-district-one-factory policy.
The ambassador was speaking at the Holland Ghana Fusion Festival to celebrate the rich Dutch and Ghanaian culture.
Even before independence, Ghana and Netherlands shared strong ties dating back to the introduction of the Holland fabrics on the Ghanaian market.
The 400-year continued friendship has seen Netherlands contributing in several ways to the development of Ghana’s economy particularly in the areas of water and sanitation.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dr Ziblim Iddi noted capacity as the major challenge hindering the present level of development co-operation between the two countries.
He assured Ghanaians of the government’s commitment to promoting a business friendly environment.
As part of the Orange Week Celebration activities to mark its Kings Day, the Netherlands Embassy in Ghana organised the Holland Ghana Fusion Festival that celebrated the rich Dutch and Ghanaian culture.
The Orange Week Celebration showcased music performances, fashion showed, and the exhibition of African goods and ran till April 27,2017.
