Shatta and Wizkid beef – The controversy brought about by Shatta Wale’s public rejection of Nigerian artistes has continued to escalate.
The controversial Ghanaian act was recently blocked by Soundcity on Twitter, for all his negative comments on Nigerian artistes and Nigerians in general. Social media has been abuzz with criticisms, comparisons, and whatnots from fan tribes of the two A-listers.
Shatta and Wizkid Beef – How It all Started
Chop Kiss hitmaker Shatta Wale is rated as one of Ghana’s most consistent artists with an impressive discography to his credit.
He won the highly coveted “African Artiste of the Year” at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and in 2016 won “African Male Artiste of the Year”.

However, just recently, Nigeria’s Wizkid claimed the top spot at the just concluded 2017 AFRIMA where he pitched three of the most prestigious awards: “Artiste of the Year”, “Song of the Year” and “Best West African Artiste”.
Wizkid was declared not just the Best Male African Artiste at the 2017 AFRIMA, but also the Artiste of the Year.
Shatta Wale who felt the Nigerian did not merit the aforementioned awards aired his views in an interview with Kasapa FM. Shatta Wale described Wizkid as ordinary saying that there is no way he (Shatta) will be stunned when he sees him.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king said that Wizkid is just a normal artiste to him and that he doesn’t rate him higher as people do.
The Ghanaian dancehall artiste declared that he doesn’t consider Wizkid a superstar, adding that he gets displeased when his colleagues in the industry fawn over the Nigerian singer.
If there’s anyone who will swallow an insult and let it go its definitely not Nigerians. Following Shatta’s comments, it has been a war of words between entertainment lovers from both countries.
Nigerians went haywire on social media, especially the Twitter platform as they lashed out at Ghana’s Shatta Wale for “insulting” the precious Starboy. Nigerians, in general, dragged Shatta Wae for every single unacceptable comment he made against Wizkid.
It went on and on…
However, the untold attacks from Nigerians on Twitter were not enough to stop Shatta Wale from displaying further.
Shatta went ahead to extend his beef to some other Nigerian dancehall artistes; Timaya and Patoranking while mentioning that both artists are sack and know nothing about dancehall music.
He also tweeted about Nigerians to be mindful adding that he is a different man who cannot be messed with. He also posted a video of him firing a pistol in a video while calling out Nigerian music stars Wizkid, Timaya, Patoranking.
However, Nigeria’s Wizkid is yet to reply Shatta Wale.
