President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to open the 17th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Abetifi in the Eastern Region.
Being the highest decision-making body of the Church, the General Assembly will take decisions to guide the activities of the Church in the coming years.
The event which is on the theme: “Let the Earth Hear (Romans 10: 14-17)” and takes place between August 18 and 24, 2017, will see ministers who are retiring from active service of the Church, presented to General Assembly.
A total of 250 commissioners and corresponding members from all the 21 Presbyteries, both home and abroad, will attend the General Assembly.
“The General Assembly will review activities of the Church in the previous year, plan for the ensuing year, and also serve as a platform for fellowship, interactions and networking among Commissioners and Corresponding Members,” a statement issued by the Church said.
Major highlights of the Assembly would include the divine service, service to commemorate the faithful departed and plenary sessions from Monday 21st August 2017.
