The ministers of Interior, Transport and Roads and Highways are to meet and come out with proposals to address the issue of recent road accidents, the president has ordered.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says the recent spate of accidents and the ensuing deaths and injuries is cause for concern to him.
That is why he wants Ambrose Dery, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah and Kwasi Amoako Atta to meet and immediately come out with the proposals.
The president tweeted his worry on Tuesday.
I am very concerned about the recent spate of road accidents, and the ensuing deaths and injuries.
I have asked the Ministers for the Interior, Roads and Highways, and Transport to meet and come out with proposals immediately, to address this critical issue in order to improve the safety of our roads.
Recent road carnages have involved an entertainment icon, Ebony Reigns, who died on the Accra-Sunyani highway.
On Tuesday, eight people were feared to have lost their lives when a 207 bus somersaulted on the Accra-Nsawam highway.
Three persons were also feared dead in Sefwi Afari after a taxi collided with a private car.

The ministers’ proposal is expected to reduce the spate of accidents and “improve” road safety.
