President Akufo-Addo has come under intense criticism by some Ghanaians over his recent comment on the terror attack in Manchester.
Critics who took to social media to express their displeasure argued that the President is usually swift to comment on attacks in other parts of the world but shows no sense of urgency when similar incidents happen in Ghana.
The country has witnessed a number of unfortunate incidents including the death of dozens of students in a freak accident at the Kintampo Waterfalls and attacks by vigilante groups believed to be affiliated with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
After the broad daylight attack by some members of pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Force, many appealed to President Akufo-Addo to openly condemn the action.
Although the President openly condemned the incident subsequently, many thought it came in rather too late.
They argued that as the leader of the party, an immediate criticism would have sent a strong signal that such acts would not be condoned by government.
