Akosua Vee and A-Plus both looked charming on their day but Vee’s wedding dress has since become a topic of discussion…
Akosua Vee and A-Plus finally had their marriage religiously and officially sealed in a white wedding held at His Majesty’s Court hotel in Accra on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017.

The lovely ceremony saw many celebrities, family, friends and well wishers in attendance.
Some of the Ghanaian celebrity personalities in attendance include actors Joselyn Dumas, Martha Ankomah, Fred Nuamah, John Dumelo, musicians Nana Boroo, Reggie and Bollie and Zeal of VVIP.
TV presenter Doreen Andoh and Black Stars’ Steven Appiah were also present.
Controversial and outspoken NPP politician, Kennedy Agyapong as well as Kwame Boadu also graced the occasion.
Meanwhile, guests at the ceremony became a bit distracted by Akosua Vee’s gown. The white wedding dress which is actually not the best in town may not have ordinarily made so much buzz.
However, the fact that Akosua is one of the best and most popular stylists in Ghana escalated the issue. Recall that Vee is known to be a perfect fashionista, having styled celebrities like Nana Ama McBrown and others for the red carpet of several big occasions.
But from her wedding gown’s material and style, down to the grossly criticised – the size, Akosua has since been receiving jabs for failing to do the work she so much knows how to do for her own self. The criticisms continued to various social media platforms after the wedding photos went viral.
Among the most prominent explanations given to the failed wedding dress is that Akosua Vee is only trying to use the bulky gown to conceal her already bulging baby bump.
Then what about the fabric and design which were also considered as failures???
Okay! Let’s drop the wedding dress brouhaha and have a brief look at who Akosua Vee and A-Plus are.
A-Plus born Kwame Asare Obeng is a hiplife musician and well known contentious social and political critic. A-Plus is also said to be a comedian but his comics are usually satirical so he should rather be called a satirist.

He came to the limelight following his songs before, during and after Ghana’s 2000 general elections; with the “Freedom of Speech” album being the hit. A-Plus specifically used the Mesuro Mpo Na Merekeka Yi O track in the album to lash out severe strokes at politicians. His other albums include Freedom of Speech II (2001), Letter to Parliament (2007) which appears to be the most controversial so far.
A-Plus however, appears to be losing his taste following his recent ‘unfounded’ corruption allegations against two government officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Akosua Vee born Violet Bannerman Quaye on her own part, is a personal/celebrity stylist and fashion blogger. She has styled many prominent personalities including CEO of Atitiriw Magazine, Kafui Danku and NPP’s Deputy Communications Director. Akosua Vee was TV3’s Ghana Most Beautiful 2016 Chaperone.
Akosua and A-Plus are said to have been friends for the past five years. They however, dated for about three years before tying the knot Traditional Wedding on the 25th of February, 2017 in Dansoman.
Ahead of their white wedding, Akosua in an interview with Joy News’ Ibrahim Ben-Bako, described A-Plus as a very humble and jovial person.
We say congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kwame Asare Obeng!!!
