Lawerence Abrokwa, the embattled husband of Ghanaian actress, broadcaster and comedienne, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa aka Afia Schwarzenegger has been granted bail to the sum of Gh¢20,000 with three sureties, by an Accra circuit court.
This is after he pleaded not guilty to two counts of domestic violence, threat of harm, publication of obscene material and assault.
Afia Schwarzenegger’s husband is facing five charges including domestic violence with emotional, verbal and psychological abuse, publication of obscene material, assault and threat of harm.
Maurice Ampaw his lawyer prayed the court to grant him bail since he reported himself to the police and will be willing to assist in the trial.
According to reports, the presiding Judge, Mrs. Jane Harriet Akweley Quaye upon granting the bail warned that the parties involved in the case to stop speaking to the media. The case has been adjourned to October 11, 2017.
Mr. Abrokwa was arrested on August 30, 2017, when an official complaint of an alleged assault was received from the wife, known in private life as Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa. Lawrence was later cautioned and released as investigations continue into the case.
However, information was rife subsequently, that Afia Swarchznegger was caught red-handed engaging in sexual relations with another man who is not her husband.
This was after a viral 2-minutes video saw the star wearing a headscarf and clad in a white towel trying to shield her private parts from the lenses of the camera; while her husband roared in anger at the scene.
The police suspecting that Abrokwa was the source of the leaked video, arrested and arraigned him before a court.
While the case continues, Afia maintains she is a single woman and is separated from her husband. Her claims, however, have been refuted by Abrokwa’s lawyer who says she is still legally married to him.
Regardless of all the fuss, Mr Lawrence has said he has forgiven his wife and is ready to move on.
