The footbridge at Adum in the Central Business District of the Ashanti Region is scheduled to be closed to hawkers and pedestrians on Monday, May 22.
The footbridge is due for repair works based on the advice of engineers of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
The bridge has developed deep cracks which require urgent attention, the engineers have observed.
During the repair works, pedestrians will be permitted to use the bridge “to commute from one end to another whilst the engineers are on site”.
Hawkers have been ordered to vacate the place before Monday.
