The Accra-Aburi road that was partially closed at the Ayi Mensah–Peduase Lodge section would be opened to the motoring public Wednesday.
The Accra-bound carriageway was closed in June this year.
Early this year, motorists who ply that stretch of the road raised concerns about some rocks gradually dislodging onto the road, which necessitated its closure to traffic for repair works to start on the slope.
A statement by the Ghana Highway Authority said the Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr Kwasi Amoako-Attah has given directive for the road to be opened.
“The general public is, hereby, informed that the Accra bound carriageway of the Ayimensah –Peduase Lodge-Aburi Road, which was closed to traffic for the efficient execution of the Slope Protection Works, would be temporary opened to normal traffic with effect from Wednesday 20th December, 2017 at 6.00am,” the statement said.
The travelling public and all road users have been advised to cautiously observe the road signs and line markings put in place for their safety and comfort.
The Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Ghana Highway Authority assured the general public that they would provide safe, reliable and quality trunk road network for the socio-economic development of the country.
