Abedi Pele gets CAF appointment -Football legend Abedi Pele alongside five others have been named to serve on the standing committees of CAF. This was announced by Africa’s football governing body on Wednesday.
The ex-Ghana captain is among a 30-member committee headed by South African guru Danny Jordan as president.
The three-time African Football Association has been made a member of Committee for Youth Africa Cups of Nations.
According to a statement from CAF, the football icon will serve as a member of the Youth Africa Cups of Nations for U17, U20, and U23 committee.
Here are the five other Ghanaians to serve on various CAF standing committees are as follows:
Liberty Professionals chairman Felix Ansong has been named on the Development Committee for Futsal and Beach Soccer. Prince Pamboe has been named on the CAF Medical Committee.
As for Ex-Ghana FA boss, Alhaji Jawula will continue to work on the Inter Clubs Organising Committee. Ghana FA vice president George Afriyie has already been named in the for the Organising Committee for Africa Cup of Nations.

Born Abedi Ayew, the football legend was one of the first great African players to make an impact on European club football. He played for teams in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and most famously, France where he helped Marseille win 1993 UEFA Champion’s League. Pele is adored in many African countries, especially the Francophone countries because of his exploits in France.
The veteran, however, left his legacy in the world of football nationally and internationally in three of his sons -Ibrahim Ayew, Andre ‘Dede’ Ayew, and Jordan Ayew who are all prominent players and have continued to make Ghana proud both nationally and internationally.
