Ghana’s leading media and communications firm Media General says it will engage the National Communications Authority (NCA) following the inclusion of 3FM, one of its subsidiary radio stations, in the list of defaulting media firms.
The list by NCA contained 131 media stations accused of various infractions some which are non-payment of license renewals.
But the inclusion of 3FM appears to have ruffled feathers of its mother company.
“We want to state without equivocation that this allegation is false,” management said in a statement issued on Friday.
“As a responsible corporate citizen, Media General has dutifully honoured all regulatory and obligatory requirements across our operations.
“To this end, Management of Media General will engage the NCA to swiftly resolve this matter.”
It assured “our cherished listeners, clients and business partners” that the operations of 3FM “will not be impacted in anyway”.
“We will continue to provide the best content and programmes to meet the needs of our discerning listeners, clients and partners.”
It concluded: “We remain unwavering in our commitment to transform the media and entertainment landscape in Africa.”
