It was all joy for Muslim inmates at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison when a delegation from the office of the wife of Vice President, Hajia Samira Bawumia, donated dozens of bags of rice and other food items to Muslims at the correctional facility.
The donation was to afford the Muslim inmates the opportunity to also share in the Eid ul fitr celebration on Monday, June 26, 2017 after 30 days of fasting in prison.
Director of Operations at the office of the Second Lady, Alhaji Aminu Gariba, who spoke with journalists, said the donation was to show love to people and the less-privileged as they celebrated Eid ul fitr.
He added that the donation was the second lady’s contribution towards helping Muslim inmates to live well while in detention.
Alhaji Aminu Gariba said the office of the second lady will continue to donate to the Nsawam Prison as part of its corporate social responsibility.
