A total of 70 people have been treated and discharged
Nineteen people who sustained various degrees of injury, during last Tuesday’s gas explosion at Takoradi are still on admission at the Effia Nkwanta Government Hospital.
A total of 70 people has however been treated and discharged.
The Acting Medical Director at the Effia Nkwanta Government Hospital, Dr Richard Anthony made this known when Zen Petroleum Limited, last Friday donated medical consumables to assist with the treatment of the victims.
The items, worth GH¢11,000 was presented to four different hospitals, GPHA, Effia Nkwanta, New Takoradi and Takoradi Hospital and the Ghana National Fire Service last Friday.
The Ghana National Fire Service also received a cheque for GH¢5,000 to help take care of the medical bills of fire officers who got burnt during the incident.
Dr Richard Anthony expressed appreciation to Zen Ghana for the donation.
Speaking on behalf of Zen, Mr Kwabena Ampong, Commercial Manager asked oil marketing companies to take safety seriously so as to help protect citizens.
