One hundred and seventy-six superior officers of the Ghana Prisons Service across the country have been promoted to their next ranks, 3news.com can authoritatively report.
Eleven Chief Superintendents of Police have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Directors of Prisons while nine Superintendents have now been made Chief Superintendents of Prisons.
One Deputy Superintendent of Prisons has been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Prisons.
Additionally, 155 Assistant Superintendents of Prisons have also been promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Prisons.
The promotions, which were approved by the Prisons Service Council on December 13, 2017, take effect from January 1, 2018.
It was based on the recommendations of the Superior Officers’ Promotions Advisory Board of the Ghana Prisons Service, 3news.com has gathered.
“It is anticipated that their promotion will be brought to bear on their performances,” appointment letters issued on December 15, 2017 and signed by the acting Director General of Prisons, Patric Darko Missah read in part.
